Noemail, You are only partially correct. The word 'scam is not appropriate when evaluating Amway's stratified marketing strategy, I agree. Amway has national name recognition, has been around for over 50 years, is #32 on Forbes list of top 500 privately held companies. Amway does not 'trick' people into participation, nor deny them any opportunity to realize profit by joining the sales network. It is HOWEVER spot on accurate in its explanation how the profit train chugs down the tracks, and the casual participant looking to put a little extra money into the pocket will be left at the whistle top as Income growth is directly related to how much Amyway YOU personally move, and to how many people you are draft under you as a sales team. Not scam material, but complicated none the less. As for Pyramid v.s. Ponzi, YOU need to do your homework. Here are the intrinsic differences:

Explicit vs Implicit: A pyramid scheme is explicit. From the beginning, you're (theoretically) aware you are paying money for the opportunity to get others to pay you money. A Ponzi scheme necessitates lying to the participants, masking the transfer of money with a (supposedly) legitimate investment business.

Active vs. Passive: Pyramid schemes require active work, whether it's recruiting new participants or selling a product. You're buying in knowing the only way you'll make money is by recruiting or selling. In a Ponzi scheme, participants are usually just forking their money over and expecting a return in exchange for the perpetrator taking a management fee.

Legality: A properly structured pyramid scheme can be legal, and many legitimate companies use them to some degree or another. A Ponzi scheme is pretty much always illegal.

PS: Any business can 'buy' a BBB A+ rating by paying for one. Do the research, its in there.

the only reason STILL it is ilegal is the rich still does not want the compitition...if the gov believes in god then they have to know the truth that we naturally produce it in our bodies...god made it for mankind..it is what keeps you on an even keel..there just getting paid a million dollars a day by those rich to keep it ilegal..the war on drugs..lol..funny..all that war is is to keep hemp ilegal..no other drugs do they care about cause it wouldnt hurt them..if we make it legal the gov can pay off the national debt..unimployment would end cause of the 26,000 great uses for it and it would open up 20 million jobs...so what the hell are they waiting for

i have a mentel illness and the meds they give me only work for a few mouths then my body stops them from working the only time i feel right is wen i smoke pot but i cant do it becouse i dont want to lose my job or get hurt and them not have to pay for my bill and what if i get hurt bad and cant work any more then what am i to do but i ant right with out it i fly off the handle and get mad at people i just wish they would do the right thing for the people of this great usa land of the free bull shit land of what they want you to do and if you dont then they fuck you over

I think i finally understand one of the reasons now, not because of your article though.
There will always be drug dealers. However so many drug dealers now days sell only marijuana. It is so easily accessible. If it was legal, the government would still tax the fuck out of it, but chances are, it'll still be cheaper than underground weed. Because of this, the drug dealers would have to find a new way of making money. Some would jump out of the game, but some will move onto selling harder drugs, making them more easily accessible. Thus, the legalization of marijuana may possibly move people onto harder drugs. Maybe that's why a lot of police in my country (New Zealand) are so leniant and hardly ever actually press charges for possession.

Just a thought.

yes, we all need to start speaking out more about all these things we are going through, and what we know in our hearts to be TRUE! I could write a book about what Ive been through that would have been a whole lot different if our prejudice government had some different laws to have to enforce. Im white but I commend our President for being inteligent enough to stand up to all those predjudice people he has to face daily. all that medicare talk is just a farce! the goverment gets kids addicted to their addh or bipolar medicine in order to help them get through school by use of medicaid, then at age 19, takes it away....poverty stricken kids then try to self medicate by use of weed, and sometimes even more street drugs....then they get busted, and begin a cycle of money required court procedures, smoking the new "fake weed" to pass drug tests, and I have witnessed many heartbreaking reprocusions of this cycle, The government wonders why there are so many young people getting so messed up in our society...maybe thet are secretly happy about causing this 'un'talked about phenomenom, and baming kids problems on the parents in our courts!!!! parents use weed to help calm nerves and help aching bodies feel better, and they live in a nervous world because weed is so illegal! And when kids are on probation or people that live in poverty, can't afford to move to where weed is more legal! So they are essentially TRAPPED IN A COMMUNISTIC TYPE WORLD where people feel like a mouse in a cage being run by our so called great government that other countries look up to.... man, the government needs to WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!!!!!!! Legalize weed and the economy will calm down remarkedly! Its a natuaral source of energy that GOD created and there's been proof that it has been around over 5000 years...unlike alcohol that is manmade and legal.

Wait so let me get this straight... We legalize it simple, there will be illegal sales when legal? okay so when you make something legal to grow, love, and all hard work. So all that effort, work and time you put into growing this beautiful plant then you sell it and that is illegal. There should be a system if we want to sell it there will be licensed growers they will sell to your local marijuana supplier the supplier will sell to the stores with profit for both ends. a grower with no licensed will be fined. But really its all about how we price the weed and tax it so we can beat the black markets ridicules over priced mind set. Once we lower the price enough the profit for the growers decrease because people are not buying it from the local dealer or any other normal person with a good job. "THEY ARE BUYING IT AT THE GAS STATION!"

God didn't give us a choice. He warns us against addictions and demons, and the best biblical definition of an addiction, is something that takes time and money away from God. Be it pornography, sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling, gaming, sports, so on and so forth. If you're spending $40 on a sports jersey you'll wear a few times, and looks almost the same as one you already have, instead of giving that money to the church in a collection for a member in need or something like that, you are succumbing to an addiction. If you spend money on weed that could be given or saved, then you are addicted, in addition to spending time smoking instead of going to church or reading the bible or praying.

I feel america is slowly starting to warm up to the idea of making it legal, but not federally. So if they end up not likeing the way things go, they'll just have the feds sieze everything. I believe this fighting over legalization should have been won a long time ago. So many people you know have smoked, and alot are still continually smoking. But have to hide it because its looked down on people uneducated on marijuana. America's supposed to be for the people, not what the politicans think the average american should do. This debate gets me so pissed because the only fight to not make it illegal is facts that arent true, or dont have the truth to them that thier trying to put out. Its bullshit, and im sick of OTHERS trying to govern MY life in america.
